Part of Bronzeville’s Legends South community, Coleman Place is named for famed neighborhood resident Bessie Coleman, the first woman pilot of African American descent and the first African American to hold an international pilot’s license. The varied architectural styles of Coleman Place’s townhomes and small apartment buildings were designed to complement Bronzeville’s storied older construction. The 119 apartments and townhomes feature 1-3 bedroom units, spacious living quarters, energy star appliances and convenient access to schools, retail and public transportation.
