David Valdiviezo

Development Associate
Mr. Valdiviezo joined Brinshore Development’s Kansas City office in June of 2018 as a development associate.  He assists in several projects including the Kansas City CHOICE Neighborhoods Initiative as well as the Highlander development site in Omaha, Nebraska.

Prior to joining Brinshore, Mr. Valdiviezo worked at the City of Kansas City, Missouri where he served in the role of Housing Planner in the Neighborhood and Housing Services Department. In that role, Mr. Valdiviezo was part of the team that helped allocate and oversee the City of Kansas City’s annual HUD entitlement funds. During his time at the City, Mr. Valdiviezo served on several important policy initiatives including Opportunity Zones, the renewal of the City’s Housing Policy, implementation of the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Plan, the City’s Bike Master Plan and the Central City Economic Development Board.

Before joining the City of Kansas City, Missouri, Mr. Valdiviezo served as Community Outreach Coordinator at the Mattie Rhodes Center. In that role he assisted in the Scarritt Renaissance neighborhood in creating a 3 year neighborhood action plan which addressed public infrastructure, community engagement and crime prevention.

Mr. Valdiviezo earned his Masters in Urban Planning from the University of Kansas while simultaneously teaching and working full time. In 2009, Mr. Valdiviezo completed a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Political Science and a Bachelor of Science in Global and International Studies; writing a thesis exploring the informal development of housing in favelas across Latin America.
