DEERFIELD, IL (April 16,2024) – Housing Opportunity Development Corporation (HODC) and Brinshore Development are thrilled to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for Zion Woods. The development will provide 25 accessible apartment homes for families and individuals living with disabilities. The event will mark a ten-year collaborative effort to add additional affordable housing to Chicago’s north shore. Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church donated the land to make the development possible. Project financing partners include Illinois Housing Development Authority, Federal Home Loan Bank, National Equity Fund, Village Bank & Trust (Wintrust), ComEd, and NSH Inc.

A Cause for Celebration

The groundbreaking ceremony will take place on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Zion Woods development site located at 10 Deerfield Road, Deerfield, IL.

A Celebration of Community Partnership

The official groundbreaking ceremony will feature a program of comments by distinguished guests, including Deerfield Mayor Daniel Shapiro, Congressman Brad Schneider, Illinois State Senator Julie Morrison, and Illinois State Representative Bob Morgan. Following their remarks, attendees will enjoy the ceremonial groundbreaking.
