Mr. Roane joined Brinshore Development in January 2012.  He is responsible for the management of complex residential and mixed-use urban infill development projects throughout the Midwest. Mr. Roane manages all aspects of the development process for Brinshore including pre-development, design, financing, entitlement and permitting, construction, marketing, and community outreach.

Prior to joining Brinshore, Mr. Roane worked at the City of Chicago, Department of Housing and Economic Development where he was responsible for managing and closing affordable housing transactions in which the City of Chicago provided financial assistance.  His responsibilities included underwriting for complex developments that utilized Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits, Illinois Affordable Housing Tax Credits, Tax-Exempt Bonds, Tax Increment Financing, HOME loans, and CDBG loans.  Mr. Roane closed a variety of transactions while at the City, including single family affordable for-sale developments, permanent supportive housing transactions, Section 8 preservation projects, and Chicago Housing Authority mixed-income redevelopments.

From 2004 to 2005, Mr. Roane was a development coordinator at Housing Opportunity Development Corporation, a not-for-profit housing development organization that serves Chicago’s northern suburbs. From 1999 to 2003, Mr. Roane served as a Senior Planner for the Delaware County Planning Department in Media, PA where he was responsible for the implementation of historic preservation and urban redevelopment initiatives.

Mr. Roane received a Master of Urban Planning degree and a Certificate in Historic Preservation from the University of Virginia School of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse.

Mr. Roane serves on the Board of St. Leonard’s Ministries which serves men and women who have experienced incarceration by providing safe housing, food, intensive case management, behavioral change interventions, life skills, job skills training, and employment placement.  He also serves as Chair of the City of Evanston Affordable Housing Plan Steering Committee.
