“Brinshore is a community-centric developer. We produce thoughtfully designed housing assets that respond to the unique needs of each community in which we build.”
Experience
As Senior Vice President of Development, Emily Abeln is Brinshore’s team lead for Texas and Arizona markets. Alongside a cadre of subject-matter experts, her responsibilities include site selection and land acquisitions, nonprofit partnership development, project underwriting and feasibility, earning the support of neighborhood and political stakeholders, sourcing public financing, facilitating funding and land closings, and directing project design from inception through permitting, construction, and placement in service.
Prior to joining Brinshore in 2022, Emily worked for seventeen years at a nonprofit real estate development organization, the largest provider of supportive housing in Texas and a national model for deeply affordable housing. She began in property management, then established the organization’s compliance department, and finally conducted all real estate activities. With a strong background in managing multifamily developments and compliance oversight, Emily is uniquely positioned to ensure Brinshore’s projects are shepherded to completion with an eye toward future success. Her time in the nonprofit sector established a foundational love for the residents served, which remains at the forefront of her work and her driving motivation. Under the guidance of Principals Richard Sciortino and David Brint, Emily is honored to support Brinshore’s mission to provide beautiful, safe, sustainable, housing within reach of those who need it most.
