An Associate Development Manager based in Brinshore’s Evanston office, Nick is involved in all aspects of the development process, including pre-development, design, financing, entitlement and permitting, construction, marketing, and community outreach. He has worked on complex urban infill and neighborhood revitalization projects in the Midwest, Mountain West, and East Coast.
Prior to joining Brinshore, Nick worked in affordable housing finance with Bank of America's Community Development Banking team and the Illinois Housing Development Authority's Multifamily Finance Department. At Bank of America, he underwrote construction financing and tax credit equity investment for affordable and mixed-income developments around the country, while at IHDA he financed projects within Illinois making use of tax credits, IHDA first mortgage debt, and a range of state and federal financing sources. Nick previously worked as a researcher at the University of Michigan, focused on urban politics and the role of the public sector in affordable housing development, and previously held positions with a Boston real estate development firm and New York City government. He serves as a board member for the High Speed Rail Alliance, a non-profit advocating for improved public transportation.
Nick received a BA in Political Science from Davidson College, a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University, and a PhD in Political Science from the University of Michigan.
